Camera Tether is for Windows PCs only. It uses the Windows inbuilt Camera & Scanner connection drivers (Windows Image Acquisition (WIA) Automation Layer) to control the camera therefore it does not work on other operating systems.
I have investigated the possibility of providing a command-line driven version, which is possible, but as it would need to establish a connection to the camera each time it is run, I'm not sure this is actually a viable option. Let me know your thoughts.
I intend to remove the use of the Windows Registry in the future and store all settings in a local .ini file instead.
I've seen some comments regarding the translation into other languages. I will add a separate language file in a future version to make translation easier.
